Girls Who Code

Grades 3-5

GWC Club members will learn about computer science concepts, and just as importantly, they'll learn that they have a community in the computer science space!

Throughout the Club, all members will:

  • Learn to see themselves as computer scientists.
  • Gain exposure to project management and problem solving techniques.
  • Build sisterhood in a safe and supportive environment of peers and role models.
  • Learn about tech innovators and professionals across a wide range of industries around the world.
  • Learn the foundational computer science concepts and computational thinking skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing tech landscape.

Learn the basics of coding with hands-on activities and projects. This is an ongoing club that requires a monthly commitment and will meet twice a month from January – June. Girls Who Code is a national nonprofit organization leading the movement to inspire, educate and equip girls with the computing skills to pursue 21st-century opportunities. Girls Who Code clubs programs are designed for female participants but we welcome any member who wishes to join the Girls Who Code mission irrespective of gender identity.  Please email childrens@wbpl.us with any questions.
